About 700 Angolan entrepreneurs are being trained under the Human Capacity Building and Training Needs Assessment, and Development of a Technical training Plan for the Staff Assigned to PRODESI, including Support Staff. The opening ceremony of the second phase of the Training took place in Luanda last November.
Promoted by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, in partnership with the National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Support and funded by the African Development Bank, the Training cycle will also take place in Huila, Benguela, Huambo and Cabinda provinces.
At the ceremony held in the Angolan capital, the Secretary of State for Economy, Sérgio Santos, stressed the importance of training Angolan business professionals to achieve a better boost for national production.
With an expected duration of about two and a half months, the students training and qualification in the five Provinces will focus on the following subjects / disciplines:
- Business plan;
- Productivity, Quality and Process Optimization;
- Marketing and Sales Strategies;
- International trade;
- Finance for non-financial.
As part of the National Development Plan 2018-2022, PRODESI - Program to Support Production, Export Diversification and Import Substitution, is an executive program that aims to promote and accelerate national diversification, based on a set of specific lines belonging to clusters with the greatest potential for export and import substitution and, specifically, as regards:
- Food and Agroindustry;
- Mineral Resources, Oil and Natural Gas;
- Forestry;
- Textiles, Clothing and Footwear;
- Tourism and Leisure.
In this context, the project aims to contribute for the implementation of the entrepreneurship and business competitiveness support component of the Institutional Strengthening Project for Private Sector Development. It proposes, in this sense, to carry out a “Diagnosis of Training Needs and the Preparation and Execution of the Training Plan for PRODESI Support Staff, Trainers / Researchers and SMEs in Angola, as well as to develop an Institutional Capacity Building component that includes the development Human Resources Management Information System for PRODESI ”.
