Study on the Multilateral Markets: Palop and East Timor

The Study on the Multilateral Markets: PALOP and East Timor is available online.

Following an initiative promoted by AIP Foundation (Portuguese Industrial Association), Rui Miguel Santos, Vice President of CESO, presented last 16 March in Lisbon, the Study on the Multilateral Markets: PALOP and East Timor.

Intended primarily for small and medium-sized enterprises, the study considers the rules and procedures necessary to access the Multilateral Markets opportunities in those six countries. It focuses on the goods and services procurement process, provision of services and execution of works that are released based on a prior identification of needs; it also considers the formulation of a solution in order to select suppliers that can ensure the implementation of a public investment project previously identified and formulated.

For this, it is required a presentation of the processes inherent in the procurement methods of the various multilateral agencies, particularly the World Bank, the Regional Development Banks, the European Union and bilateral cooperation agencies.

The study analyzes the intervention of organizations in African Countries of Portuguese Official Language (PALOP) and East Timor (TL) over the past few years. To support the identification of concrete opportunities for Small and Medium Enterprises intervention and recognizing the importance of this market for Multilateral Agencies, this work also includes a detailed analysis of their portfolio for the coming years.

Promoted by the Portuguese Industrial Association, the study has Technical Coordination of Rui Miguel Santos and Susana Sarmento.

In recent years, CESO has also published Market Studies in several countries, namely on those with Portuguese official language, but also no India (Delhi, Mumbai and Goa) and Guinea Golf.
