Market Study on the Angolan Provinces

The Market Study on the Angolan Provinces provides an update of the data included in the previous study of 2010 dedicated to the provinces of Luanda, Benguela, Cabinda, Huila and Huambo and which is now extended, in  a territorial perspective, to the Namibe province.

This version benefits from the larger amount and quality of available information, namely the one included on the National Development Plan for 2013-2017 and also, for the same period, on the Development Provincial Plan.

The study makes a thorough characterization of the Angolan provinces and, bearing in mind the existing budgetary restrictions in the country, identifies and describes the main axes of change occurred in the last five years. In this perspective, it considers the publication of preliminary data from the Census, from the National Plan for Development and from the Industrialization Strategy.

As indicated in the document, “this work’s ambition is to provide in a simple and objective way, the best available information on Angola and some of its provinces condensing, in a single publication, data to support the decision-making processes from businessmen and investors.

Considering exports, the market study identifies 17 products in which Portugal have comparative advantage; in the last four years those products represented, in average, around USD 673 Millions of import volume, in which USD 90 Millions are provided by Portugal.

The Market Study on the Angolan Provinces is promoted by the Industrial Portuguese Association; the Technical Coordination was made by Rui Miguel Santos with Susana Sarmento’s collaboration.

In recent years, Ceso has published Market Studies in several countries, namely on those with Portuguese official language, but also no India (Delhi, Mumbai and Goa) and Guinea Golf.
