In the last few months, we had the privilege of hosting the development of an impactful thesis within the Master’s in International Development and Public Policy at Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE).

As part of the programme, students worked in collaboration with CESO on a policy research project focused on sustainable tourism and inclusive growth in Cabo Verde. The research explored how the country can move beyond a traditional “sun and sea” tourism model toward a more diversified, resilient, and locally integrated tourism system.

Using both quantitative analysis and stakeholder consultations, the project examined structural challenges in Cabo Verde’s tourism sector and developed evidence-based policy recommendations to support more sustainable and inclusive tourism development.

We are now pleased to launch the 2025/2026 edition of the Policy Analysis Project, which will involve two new research projects developed in collaboration with students from the programme. More news soon!

CESO’s partnership with Nova SBE reflects our commitment to collaborating with leading higher education institutions, including Maastricht University, University of Porto, ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon and ISEG – University of Lisbon.
